SCOPE's yearly Dublin trip was carried out a bit different this year. Due to the pandamic the whole event moved to an online setting on Zoom and was rebranded as the Maastricht Tech Week. It was SCOPE's first edition of an online tech-oriented career event and over 100 students signed up to participate in a week full of new experiences and networking.
In total a number of 5 companies participated in the event, namely: DocuSign, SumUp, Microsoft, Gartner and Deloitte Blockchain Lab.
The week was kicked-off on Monday with a workshop by Docusign, an American company allowing organizations to manage electronic agreements, followed by a presentation of the SumUp co-founder and Maastricht alumni Marc-Alexander Christ. SumUp is one of the leading mobile payment companies worldwide with a presence in 33 markets including Europe, Brazil and the U.S. Marc-Alexander Christ gave an inspriring speach about his career and the founding story of SumUp.
Half time of the event was reached on Wednesday with a session by the tech giant Microsoft. Gartner, a global research and advisory firm followed on Thursday with an interactive workshop for our students.
The week was completed on Friday with a last workshop by Deloitte Blockchain Lab. They are helping companies worldwide achieve their goals related to blockchain implementation and harness the opportunities and capabilities that blockchain technology has to offer.
