SCOPE Maastricht is thrilled to announce the second edition of its Volunteering Trip, where 26 engaged students will have the chance to give back to others at the Altas Kinder Foundation in Dar Bouiar (Morocco)!
Within SCOPE there is a special sensitivity towards the people in need. In this sense, with this volunteering trip we aim to do our bit to improve the development and quality of life of these people. In a world with so many inequalities, it is necessary that those of us who have more, help those who have less.
For this reason and after a search of different social projects, we are going to collaborate in a volunteering program with Atlas Kinder foundation in Dar Bouidar (Morocco).
The children’s village of Dar Bouidar lies at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It is home to children with a difficult past. Children of single mothers, of divided families or of parents who could not take care of them. All of them have found in this village education, affection, professionals who take care of their wellbeing and, most importantly, hope for a better future.
The foundation has asked for our help to collaborate in the realization of their next projects, which we will be working on during our stay in the village. Among them is the construction of buildings such as workshop rooms. We will also collaborate in the maintenance and improvement of their land and their farm They also ask for our help in educational matters by supporting the teachers’ collective in the school, and to participate in their agenda of recreational activities with the children. In addition to volunteering with Atlas Kinder foundation, we will have a few days of vacation in which we will spend a night in the desert and also visit, explore, and do activities in the city of Marrakesh.
The Volunteering Trip is a ten-day trip: From June 17th to June 23rd, we will carry out the volunteering with the foundation. From June 23rd to June 26th, we will spend a night on the dessert (Friday 23rd) and visit the city of Marrakesh where we will also do some activities.
When is the trip taking place?
From 17th of June to 26th of June 2023. Please note, the trip was scheduled is such way it will not impact your attendance requirements!
What main activities will be included?
- 6 days at the Atlas Kinder Foundation camp (with one meal per day already paid)
- 3 days in Marrakech
- Visits of the Majorelle Gardens and Louis Vuitton Museum
- and much more to discover!
How much does it cost?
- 350€ for SCOPE members (both active and passive). Make sure to become a passive member as soon as possible!
- 700€ for NON-SCOPE members.

- Write a short motivational letter (200-400 words).
- Send your CV (this is required by the Atlas Kinder Foundation).
